THE ABC's of REBUILDING
Heralded Ascension Educators to Oversee Training

Whether it has been politically orchestrated, or simply human nature is subject to debate. But it is undeniable that the destruction wrought on South Louisiana by hurricanes Katrina and Rita has been greatly diminished in the minds of the people of most of the country. The responsibility to rebuild, as it has so many times in the past, must fall squarely on the shoulders of the people of this great state. The effort began even before the flood waters receded. Organizations whose purpose in life is to build, shifted to re-build mode overnight. The political system, nearly lifeless during the tragedy, was activated and pressed into motion by individuals and companies prepared to take the lead in both planning and implementation. The private sector had a can-do attitude, and got to work. At the forefront of this effort from the very beginning, has been an organization named Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc.

ABC's governmental relations mission is "to promote and protect the merit shop philosophy and the free enterprise system". Its nation-wide membership looks to the organization for guidance on issues affecting their right to conduct business throughout the country. In Louisiana ABC maintains a statewide legislative and legal rights committee comprised of volunteer members from around the state. This committee devotes considerable time and effort to review and recommend positions on legislation pending in Louisiana. It supports legislation making it easier for new businesses to locate here as well as legislation encouraging business to expand. More

LSU 2006 FOOTBAL OUTLOOK

The LSU Offense with six returning starters, including a pair of receivers in Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis along with quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the Tigers are once again loaded on offense. Jimbo Fisher returns for his seventh season as the offensive coordinator for the Tigers and during his six previous years in Baton Rouge, Fisher has established himself as one of the top offensive minds in the game. Despite the loss of first round draft pick in running back Joseph Addai, the Tigers appear to be in good hands in the backfield with the return of 2004 starter Alley Broussard and 2003 starter Justin Vincent. The offensive line will be anchored by veterans in Will Arnold and Brian Johnson, while Russell, along with Matt Flynn, are both proven quarterbacks who have led the Tigers to big wins during their career. Russell brings a 14-2 mark as a starter into the 2006 season, while Flynn brings a great deal of confidence after leading LSU to a 40-3 win over Miami in last year's Peach Bowl. More

Thoughts from Bully.........Sometimes I Wonder

Sometimes I wonder if I am the only person on the highway that knows how to drive. I have been running into goofballs left and right over the last week. Just about everytime I approach Airline Highway from Hwy. 42 some goofball is sitting at the red light with their right blinker on and there
head turned to the left watching for traffic. Normally that would be the proper thing to do but at this corner there is a right turn on red sign, a turning lane that keeps the driver from entering the highway with about 500 yards of merging lane. It has been worse lately because my horn is broken and I can't use it as an idiot reminder. Hell, I freaked my dog out yelling at the windshield the other day. This person had sat there so long that the light had turned green with an arrow and they were still sitting there and too stupid to even look at the light. I guess I need anger management.

I have a question that I am not sure how to answer so I am asking for your help. I have been seeing this charming young lady for a number of months now. I am a kinda' closed off partner when it comes to relationships but I let her trim my ear hairs. Does that mean we are starting to bond. If so, maybe next week she can massage my feet after I kick my rubber boots off.

Hey, I traveled back to Utah a couple of weeks ago. Last month I wrote about seagulls flying in Wyoming and how weird that was to me. I mentioned it to a morman friend and he explain that when the mormans settled in the valley around Salt Lake they grew crops of corn. One day crickets or locust showed up destroying the crops and then thousands of seagulls showed up, ate the bugs and saved the crops. The seagull is now the state bird of Utah. There is the great salt lake that is suitable for the birds habitat. More
