Weekend Warriors, a music program sponsored by NAMM (North American something) and put on by Zeagler Music of Baton Rouge, is about the hit the streets again.
Weekend Warriors is designed the get the rockers who have been out of circulation an opportunity to get back into the groove.
Targeting those musicians who have been out of music because of a) families, b) jobs, c) life is the goal. The program is also available to those younger musicians who are getting started and want to find people to jam with, and/or form a band. Most of all, the overriding reason for the entire program is to have fun.
Fred Zeagler Zeagler Music owner has been gracious enough to allow me and our band of gypsies to use his store for practice, just about any time that the store is closed. He provides all of the back line equipment (amps, drums, PA system and instruments), the advertising and expertise to make the program go.
This spring, once again, Phil Brady’s Blues Bar will be the venue. The show dates are April 18th and 19th. We start playing around 8:30 pm or 9:00 and quit in the wee morning hours.
This spring a local group will rock the stage.
Below there are photos of a “Motley Crew”, not the band who will participate.
These guys signed up and represent the entire spirit purpose of Weekend Warriors. Their band consist of a publisher, student, janitor, art director, nurse and a pilot that can’t cook ribs worth a darn.
Come see the LA REBELS rock the house on April 19th at Phil Brady’s, in Baton Rouge. |
